UCI or SMC?

i just got rejected from my top choice-UCLA. however i am appealing it but i know i have a very low chance of getting in that way. my second choice is UC irvine. Should i go to my second choice or go to SMC and transfer into UCLA my junior year? i want to go to med school in the future so which idea is best to pursue?
