Articles of confederation vs. the constitution?

Articles of Confederation came first, gave authority to states. Shay's rebellion challenged the authority of the federal government, and so the founding fathers convened to draft the constitution. Later the Bill of Rights were added, which are the first 10 amendments to the constitution.
