Any problems with customer advice lines?

some time ago i purchased a deep fat fryer made by a leading uk manufacturer the instruction sheet was rather skimpy with details so i phoned the customer advice line and asked simply how long does it take the oil to reach the correct cooking temperture iwas told by the lady hwo took my call that she did not really know has anyone had problems with customer help lines
